Attorney Profile

My name is Richard Sheppard. But you can call me Rick. I grew up in Illinois, Minnesota and Michigan but came to California in the early 90s.  I worked my way through college as a night janitor and then as a medical supply delivery driver. It was during my first year as a graduate student working on a Masters of Public Administration that I found I was truly interested in the law. Once this intrest was discovered I dropped out of the program and immediately started law school. I have never looked back!

While in law school I worked for a bankruptcy attorney who taught me everything about consumer bankruptcy. Upon becoming a licensed attorney, I continued sharpening my skills by representing friends and friends of friends who were struggling with debt. I now offer these services at a reasonable cost to the public.

Prior to opening my own practice I worked nearly six years with a well known personal injury firm, handling personal injury cases throughout Central and Northern California. While I was very proud of the work we did there, I had always wanted to start my own firm and put a more personal touch on my clients’ cases. To that end  in February 2013 I started the Law Offices of Richard L. Sheppard III.
